"Different versions of ourselves" seems to suggest not one authentic self, but several authentic selves, which seems to go against the idea of authenticity. Maybe my authentic action in one situation looks different than my authentic self in a totally different situation. Does this have to mean we have different versions of ourselves? Can't it also mean we have one version of ourselves, the authentic one, that responds to the unique factors in unique situations differently? Thanks for your thought provoking post.
