I struggle with a combination of the expert and the soloist — bust mostly the expert, especially in writing my book. I feel like I have to legitimize everything I know with proof that I know it all. This is impossible and yet I feel perpetually like an imposter because I can’t know everything. It’s a cycle that keeps me trapped, and it becomes easy for me to fall into a deep abyss of negative self-talk and low self-esteem regarding how good or smart I really am. I know I can’t be alone, and yet it’s incredibly difficult to unlearn (more on this on Friday).
